DROGBA SET TO STAR IN SAMUEL ETO’S CHARITY GAME

Former Chelsea player Didier Drogba is set to take part in the planned charity game in Turkey.

The retired Ivory Coast international confirmed his participation at the star studded Samuel Eto’o charity event. Eto’o is organizing the game along with his club side Antalyaspor as they have agreed to allow the player use the Antalya Arena for the charity game.

The former Chelsea and Barcelona player started the charity far back in 2006. The charity aims to provide basic healthcare as well as improve on social inclusion in West Africa. The player will have players from both clubs present at the event. Five time Ballon D’or winner Lionel Messi, Iniesta, Neymar, Ardan Turan and former Barca star Xavi will be available for the game.

Chelsea play maker Eden Hazard will join Chelsea legend Drogba and other football stars at the event to represent the Chelsea side. The game is set to take part on July 16, 2016.

Drogba is set to captain the Chelsea side in the encounter. Same Drogba is named among the players that will star for the Major League Soccer all stars alongside David Villa, Andrea Pirlo in the Pre season game against English Premier League side Arsenal FC. The game was decided through an online vote on the league’s website and is set for California at the end of July. The online vote was allowed fans of the league to choose their 10 favourite players to line up against the visitors. Arsenal planned two pre season games for the month as part of preparations for the forthcoming season.
New York City player Villa was not voted but earned his spot on the star studded team through an EA Sports campaign. Brazilian Kaka is also set to feature in the game against Arsenal, after the Gunners play RC Lens in France in their first pre season fixture on July 22.
